I have an 87 s10 blazer and just recently I've had a problem with my rear liftgate. I can pop the rear glass just fine but I can't open the liftgate, the handle just keeps spinning around the lock cylinder. I haven't figured out a way to pop it manually. If you have any suggestions or have had the same problem help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to pop the access panel off from the inside. Then you can just grab the bar on each side and pull them inward. I been opening my gate for years like that

 

How do I do that though, I can't open the liftgate and the screws are below the floor line?

 

i jus ripped mine off. i had the same problem and i also have no idea how to change that dang handle to open em
