Default New 93 Blazer, got a few problems

Well, the womans 94 Explorer crapped out, broke the flexplate. Im gonna fix it so we can sell the car cause fords blow, but she liked it. Not looking forward to that job.

We just got a 93 Blazer Tahoe LT today. Its loaded, 4x4, 4.3L, leather, 217,000 KM, front end feels tight, brakes work great, it has BFG All terrains on it and the body is in nice shape too. We are really gonna like this truck.

We have a couple problems with it.

-Check Engine light is on, shouldnt be a problem as I own an OBD 1+2 scanner and tons of tools.
-Metal rubbing from LF, Im guessing a backing plate is bent or something easy.
-I broke the twist handle on the back trying to open the window/tailgate, good thing theres tons of auto wreckers around.
-Digital dash has a few problems - the digital speedo winks out after a while, temperature doesnt read at all, fuel guage always reads as full... I think i might be needing an ECM from the junkyard to fix these problems cause of the neat digital instrument cluster... Opinions?

As far as the digital dash goes you might want to check thos gou out. I bought one because mine was on the blink and am real pleased wuth the product. He sells them for $125.00 exchange with a warranty and full support. Here is his website.

The fuel gauge and temp gauge may or may not be fixed with the replacement dash. You can buy a new fuel sender but you have to drop the fuel tank to change it. The temp sender is in the engine block on the right side between the two forward spark plugs and has one wire going to it (dark Green). The other temp sensor is in the intake nanifold but it's a two wire type andfeeds the ECM for emissions not the temp gauge. You need a good service manual and wiring diagram. I recommend the factory stuff. Not cheap but they are far superior to the aftermarket stuff. Yes, you can still get them. Good luck and keep Blazin'.

Right on man, thanks for the speedy reply!

Thats not too bad of a price either, Im going to go check and see if the sensors unhooked later today for the temp! I live in canada, but only a hop skip and jump across the border, and grandma lives just on the other side, so i could have it shipped to her for free!
