I would replace the hoses just due to age and the potential for problems when removed. It is more of a precaution than anything else. Heater hose is cheap enough.

 

Wow, get this. We tested the flow from the hot water supply. Nothing coming out from the engine. We will pull the pipe tomorrow to see if it is clogged. But the latest theory is that someone replaced the manifold gasket at some point and did not remove the correct tabs. AutoZone says they sell the gasket for 1988-1993. Depending on the year you remove different tabs. Please tell me this ain't so!

 

That would suck, but could explain why you have no heat.
