Hello everyone,
I am in need of major help. I am unable to pass the emission part of the inspection and need to know if there is any shop in the Tarrant County area that will help me "pass". I have tried multiple repairs and am still unable to pass the sniffer. Last year I only passed my hydrocarbons by 1 point. My blazer is a '88 and only have this year and next before I only have to have the safety inspection. Please any help on a shop would be helpful!
Thanks in advance!

You didn't say what part you failed this time, but the hydrcarbon issue can come from a poorly functioning EGR system or a bad catalytic converter.

Luckly the computer shut off just after the rolling test. The inspection guy told me that he was 100% sure that it would not pass because it was taking way to long on the sniffer test. I lucked out that since the computer was shut off before the whole inspection was complete he didnt charge me.

BTW, I replaced the EGR last year.
Correction it was not the hydrocarbons it was the Nox that I barley passed by 1 point.

Then I would definitely look at the catalytic converter. Rap on it with a mallet or your fist and listen for any rattles. If there are any, the guts have broken up and it needs replacing. Even if it doesn't make any noise it can still be worn out.

When my 94 didn't pass the guy guarenteed it was the catalytic converter. He that was right. There was nothing inside it. There's a guy in Keller named John at John's Muffler Shop (has a shop next to his mobile home) that knows quite a bit about this stuff. You have to go to the internet to find him. He's a trip but has stuff together. He hooked me up for $85.00 for a new one and he had to do a little work on it because someone had modified the original from stock. I pulled and replaced it myself. PM me for more details. Passed with flying colors after that. Where in Tarrant County do you live?
