Not getting Fule presure

Today I figured i would take the old sending unit out of the old gas tank and compare the both of them. Well come to find out that the wire going from the fule pum to the sending unit were brunt off. what could cause this.

Loose connection letting electricity arc between them...also could be a corosion problem...

I put the old fuel pump in and now i have 60lbs of presure. but now the battery is dead and im gonna let it set over night will let u guys know in the morning thanks for all the help .joe

Well the blazer is at the shop now . I hope they can fix it cause it sure stump me. i'll let everyone know what it was
