Default oil leak help

Hi guys and girls. I have a 91 blazer 4.3 4wd. I have an oil leak coming from somewhere on the passenger side of the engine. The wherever it is it looks like it's leaking onto the starter and the exhaust. It leaks about a frisbee size spot when it sits over night. It looks as if the dipstick holder(?) Might be leaking also. I suppose my questions are:
1. Where could this leak be coming from
2. How do I replace the dipstick holder?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Sounds like a rear seal is bad and as for the dip stick there should be one exhaust bolt holding it on .

Thanks for the reply! When you say "rear seal" does that mean rear main seal, or something else. As far as the dipstick tube, I see the bracket that holds it on, that shouldn't be a problem to remove. What would I do to fix that leak? is there some kind of grommet around the tube that I would replace? Thanks for all the help so far.

I think you can rule out a rear main seal leak. The size spot you are talking about is more of a POUR than leak.

After you get it clean then you can better find the source of the leak.

As I noted in another thread 4.3's are leakers and their failure is often due to failing gasket sets.

I hope you can find the source soon. It has to be pooling then draining down after you shut down the engine. There are not too many places that can leak that much after shutdown.

A gallon pressure sprayer/mineral spirits/car wash degreaser can do wonders to get back down to metal showing.

Yes the rear main seal , The reason it pools over night is when your driving the vehicle most of the oil will stay in the bell housing and when its shut off it will leak through the transmission dust cover . And when your driving it , it will leak onto the exhaust and starter area . I 2nd the idea of washing the engine with some sort of degreaser , so you can tell for sure .
