Okay, fuel pressure went to 50 psi when I cranked it over, then within 5 to 10 seconds, dropped to nothing...

It's the regulator and nut kit, right?

It could either be the fuel pressure regulator, the check valve in the fuel pump or the little piece of hose connecting the pump to the hanger assembly.

pull the plenum off and turn the key on and you will see the leak. the plenum is easy to get off. alot of times the lines get a hole in them or the FPR goes bad.

The check valves are usually pretty good with these pumps. This problem he is having is 99% of the time is the regulator or nut kit in these certain vehicles. It could still be the check valve etc but i highly doubt it.
