Default ignition coil replacement

97 Blazer 6 cyl. I assume the ignition coil module is original and seems to be pinned or riveted onto the mounting bracket. Is there any other way besidesgrinding to get them off? Thanks! skoot61

Default RE: ignition coil replacement

Unbolt the bracket and remove. Then yes, grind off or drill out the rivets. The new coil will come with bolts and nuts.

Yes, The new one does have small brackets, bolts and nuts... Why would GMattach it in a way that makes a simple thing difficult and annoyingis beyond me... Im going to use a burring bit and drill them off in place... Thanks for your intrest swartlkk.
