Default power window question

1992 s10 blazer 2dr 2wd,

When I first bought the blazer the windows worked fine but the passenger side window was kind of slow, thought nothing of it.

Now the passenger side window doesn't come down or anything, and the driver side will come down maybe 2 inchs and stop, will not go any further, when I roll the window back up and it reaches the end it starts making a loud popping sound.

My question is, do I need to buy just the window motors or motors with regulars?

Totally agree, But 99% of the time is is just the motor. You can punch them out and the rebuilts give you bolts to put them back on the regulator. i got it from NAPA and they were the cheapest surprisingly, but that is before i heard of RockAuto so idk anymore. And it is going to suck just to let you know. Had to do 2 on my Bravada and just taped up the back one. lol

Mine were slow and I went in and sprayed tracks and everything with wd-40, now they work fine.

The regulators on these are nice since the motor is just riveted to the regulator and can be punched out unlike honda motors where the whole thing needs to be replaced. (i just used a punch some use a drill but w/e). I would check the fuse just in case, it might be a $2 fuse fix instead of a motor, and the regulators are fine unless they get bent when you take them out or the wheel has fallen (Pretty hard for ether one to happen). Just be careful the regulators are spring loaded and can snap back at you when the motor is taken off. (they won't break just hurt to get hit by or have something pinched)

That is true but most of the time when they stop they are done for. But I would try it first just to see if it would fix it. Its better to see if a cheap fix works first than try and replace it XD

Great thread and glad I found it before I asked also bonus "HONDA" reference. Just had my regulator replaced on honda van. My question was going to be do I need to replace the regulator or just the motor. I may do it all as passenger goes down some but get slanted at and angle and will not go up unless pushed up manually. The driver goes down about four inches then gets stuck. Motors and regulators? ...and thanks for rock auto link Giovanni
