Default Question about replacing a catalytic converter(88 S10 Blazer)

My cat (again on an 88 Chevy S10 Blazer 4.3L) went and I am replacing it the 2 parts that connect opposite of the input side of the exhaust are this and this(there is a bracket that slides over the pipe). When taking off my old piping there wasnt anything holding those pipes together other than 4 bolts that connected their respective brackets. Is there anything that goes between the metal to make a tighter fit(gasket or the like)? Thanks for reading and helping all.

I believe there is a gasket that goes in there, search exhaust flange gasket.

I was able to figure out that there is no other piece between the pipes. The exhaust flange gasket is a part you can attach to the outlet on a universal cat to give it the bubble end that is on the cat I linked to on my first post. It does not come with the plate that helps make the bond between the cat and the midpipe. I could not find one for sale so I guess you would have to find a new one(couldnt find it) or use the one from the previous cat. Thanks again for the help guys.
