Rear Disc Brake Conversion Done.

I completed my rear drum to disc brake conversion today. I started out with getting all of the components from a U-Pull it junk yard. Calipers, Backing plates with E-Brakes, brake lines, mounting tabs, Caliper hoses, Rotors. I pulled 2nd gen brake cables from their housings with springs to use in my first gen cable housings. I blasted and painted everthing, welded the tabs on to the axles, I had to cut down and drill out the mounting flange for the backing plate. My Sawsall made quick work of cutting down the axle flange. I used the calipers as core deposits for rebuilt calipers, I bought new brake pads from Rock Auto, I had the rotors turned after I painted the rotor hat and non braking areas. I purchased cable stops on ebay. I purchased axle spacers on ebay to shim the backing plate. The spacers came with 1/4 and 1/16 inch spacers. I ended up using the 1/16 spacer on each side to center the caliper on the rotor. I purchased new M10 Class 10.9 hardware on ebay. I bought new 1st gen right and left E-Brake cables from Bruin brakes on Ebay. I just wanted the new cable housings as my left cable housing was totally rusted and broke in a bunch of spots. I used my shop press and press plates to press the cable stops on to the ends of the 2nd gen brake cables after I ran the cable inside of the new cable housings. I than connected the E-brake cables and adjusted them. See attached pictures of the installation.
