S10 blazer 88, please tips for shocks and tranny...
Hi forum i Buy a S10 with my brother, we from Chile (southamerica), and have many questions and think that maybe is easy for the answers. The blazer have a engine that for the vin says that is a 4.3 "Z" efi, and the tranny is automatic but i don't know the exactly model.
i wanna make a rebuild the engine and the transmission, only for work... And have some questions:
What's is the transmission models?
What's shocks can work? In My country i ask for the rear shocks but only have for 2wd model or 2.8 model, the owner of the store says that not have My model...
Is easy remove the frame of the body?
this is the blazer

For parts comparisons and identification, I will often consult GM parts sellers, e.g. GMPartsGiant.com, or look at the website RockAuto.com. There is also this website https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/e...olet/54s-t/04/ but the link seems to be down at the moment. The first and third sites will give you GM parts numbers and the second one (RockAuto) will allow you to cross reference the GM part number with other brands and also allow you to see what other vehicles used the same part.
For the transmission, I would recommend looking at some of the websites in the states that sell rebuilt transmissions as they often will have information on how to identify the transmission you already have so that you can get the proper replacement. The transmissions will often have stickers and stamped numbers on them that can help you identify what you have.
And for the engine, the best I can suggest is to research the history of the use of the different models of the 4.3L engines in Blazers. According to this Wikipedia article you likely have an LB4 engine (you will want to double check this). Also, you can use a VIN (vehicle identification number) decoder that will tell you all about every option that originally came with your truck.
If you have an RPO sticker in your glove box, you can decode the codes to confirm with what options the truck was equiped.
