tail lps fuse keeps blowing
hey all. i have a 94 blazer and it has a fuse blowing problem. ive looked at other posts in this situation and tried doing them. cig lighter.. looking for disconnected grounds. using a voltmeter on the tail sockets. checking wires.etc. im very frustrated and looking for some advice. could a plate light possibly cause a short out even if its working? it is extremely rusty and i have another that im goin to change. now the fuse sometimes blows out immediately and others it takes a lil while. i have a few extras from the junkyard to waste for testing. i really hate elec problems so any other advice can really help and be apreciated.
i dont have a trailer hitch hanging out or anything but there is one little plug i found in the back in with the rest of the wires hiding underneath some molding. i put it back together but if i remember right it should be some kind of trailer hitch connector spliced off the wiring. its not touching anything or are the wires frayed and such. and im not 100% that its for a trailer hitch because it dont look like a normal one would look. i may be wrong though.
well it seem i may have fixed the problem. i changed out the plate light socket and i also found a corroded connection to a parking light in the front. i hope that someone in the future can use this post to help themselves out in fixing a blowing tail lps fuse.
