Default timing belt or chain

as you can see i have a 91 s10 blazer. i was reading thru Popular Mechanics and they had a DIY thing on replacing timing belts. well that got me to thinking and i said "self, i don't remember the timing belt having been changed since we've had it. that could be worth looking into." and then i said "self do i have a timing belt or timing chain?" and then i said "self i am hungry." okay my question is do i have a timing belt or chain. whoda thunkit? and also when should it be changed as i have almost 210K miles on my blazer?
thanks

All 4.3 Chevys have a timing chain, and there is no recommended interval to change it. I have seen them last over 340,000 miles and have NEVER seen a broken one. That being said as soon as you read this yours will probably break and make me look like a complete assssssss.......lol, but I certainly would not expect that.

For the most part, timing chains will last at least one round around the odometer (my Auntie's Astro wrapped the odo. twice)

But usually, once you here something like this, as lastcoupe said...

Basically, don't worry about it until it happens, lol

You'll probably hear your timing chain rubbing on the inside of the timing cover because of a stretched chain and worn gears well before it breaks.
