Torsion Bar Question
Okay guys, new to the site, and just getting into some light offroading with my 89. I paid 400 for the thing so I don't want to be dumping a whole lot of money into straight axles swaps and whatnot.
On to my question, I know I can tighten the torsion bars up front to gain a little extra room, but how much is safe, how much is too much, etc. ? Also, is it safe to just do a flip kit out back to gain the 3 inches or whatever it is from the rear axle on these things? 3 Inches should be plenty for me (I hope). The truck needs tires and I want some room to fit something decent up in there. I am also not at all opposed to cutting up my fenders to get more angle near the bottom of the well if it will help a good bit. Thanks a lot guys.
