Default ugh..stupid question on 700r4 shift linkage.

Just removed the column on the 92'. Man whats up with the 4000 wire connectors. anyways.

Accidentally shifted the trans out of park while trying to get the shift linkage disconnected. Thankfully i had put blocks on the front tires. I crawled underneath and moved the bracket all the way forward, which i thought was park. blazer still moved, so i clicked it back once(towards rear of car) and it has more resistance to move now. Im on a slight incline,so its hard pushing it by myself to start with.

I THINK for what i remember on my old truck when i replaced the 700r4 trans, wont the bracket click forward once due to play etc in the bracket inside the trans? then the one click back actually puts it in park?. Been a while since i messed with one. I'll know for sure once i get a column for it. but its picking on my brain.
