Default Vacuum hoses with stops

I got a 1992 Jimmy 4x4 TBI. I am replaceing a few things under the hood. and I have found 2 vacuum hoses that have caps on them. was wondering what and where they go to. Both are going under the motor. Could not trace them down. Any Idea what they are ??

Depends on where you found them. One next to the drivers light would be for the front differential, and one next to teh battery would be for the t-case. They are breather vent lines and allow hot air to escape, and allow cool air to enter when they cool back down. They should have what looks like a filter on teh end of them.

Option #2- Does your 4x4 work? One hose could come from teh t-case to control vacuum to the vacuum actuator for the front diff. The other hose could be the vacuum line that feeds vacuum to the switch in the t-case.

Those are the only vacuum lines that run under the engine. They are for the 4x4 system. Checl the Self help section for a thread on 4x4 not working or something like that. It covers all teh vacuum lines for the 4x4 system in more detail.

Thanks man.........I got the truck for free with a damaged front drivers fender. I took the fender off and saw the hose. Dont know if the 4x4 works or not. The Motor Runs. And thats about all I know about it. That must be what the 2 hoses are for though. I havent even started with the wiring yet.
