And where does the other end of the hose run to? Looks like you have the same engine as me, vortec 4.3 so I could look at my lines and let you know.

I think I have the same hose that is not connected to anything either. I'm interested to know too.

It" been like that since we got the truck "we think it's tranny or 4x4 related...btw the 4x4 engages but when the real wheel spin the front wheels disengage... I don't know if it's related

Either the vacuum actuator or the tranny/transfer case vent line. Take out your battery tray and your battery of course and look under there to see if there is a hose hooked up to the vacuum actuator, that would also explain why you dont get front wheel engagement.

BTW, you need to put some information in your posts so we know what year, make, model, engine your working on. A picture isnt very helpful without information.

Also, do some searching, this page or a page back in the forum someone had a question about the same vacuum line your showing us.
