Default Valve Lash Tightening .75-1.5 extra turns

I replaced some wornout rockers and pushrods on my 1985 chevy s10 pickup 2.8L v6 carb. 2wd pickup hydraulic lifters and now I'm a little confused exactly how tight they should be...I have both chiltons and haynes books the haynes book says after all the lash is gone tighten an extra .75 of a turn, the chiltons book says after all the lash is gone tighten an extra 1.5 turns...thats a big differance ,does anyone know eactly what it should be?

FYI...
I found out from the Chevrolet Dealerships Mechanic is what he does is removes all the lash and then goes 1 full turn more...

I usually spin the pushrod in my fingers till i feel resistance, then go 3/4 turn more.
