ok I have to original keys and fobs that came with the truck. this was a family car so I haven't got my hands on it until now . we've owned it for 2 years but they said they key fob hasn't worked. here are the two major pieces of info. I replaced both batteries and only the panic buttons work on both but not the lock and unlock buttons. second the SECURITY sign on the dash flashes when the car is off . I don't think the car has to be locked for that to flash. all the power door locks work. so now what ? is the security thing flashing a total programming thing that is messing up the key fobs from working or are the key fobs just old and need to be replaced? thanks

 

I have a 98 LS 4dr 4x4. I have no flashing light on my dash. I have tried the "holding unlock turning the key" business. I get nothing. I have no idea if I even have an RKE. I do know that I get nothq when I push the hatch button on the dash. I hear a relay or something clicking somewhere in the dash but nothing happens. The hatch doesn't lock with the power locks. The key doesn't work in the hatch either. I was told the truck wouldn't go into program mode if there was a problem with the hatch locking and unlocking. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?!?! I would really like to solve both the key less entry question and the hatch issue.
