98 blazer fuel guage help
Hi, I read the sticky post on the 98+ fuel guage problems, and do not have all the equipment to preform all the tests listed. My fuel guage is pinned passed full, so I am hoping that It is just a dirty connector, at least that is where I want to start. It was fine the other day, and I got stuck in some snow, then went and filled up the tank after digging out. It hasn't dropped back down since, so I am hoping maybe some snow got jammed up in there and fouled things up.
My question is, Can the plugs on the sending unit/ fuel pump be reached, and cleaned without removing the tank?
I haven't wanted to crawl under there and look yet because we have lots of snow on the ground, and everything is a mess under there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, almost forgot, the blazer is a 1998 4 door 4wd
thanks, jeff

If you remove the drivers side rear tire, loosen the tank straps and drop the tank a few inches (no more or you risk your fuel lines and pump) you should be able to reach in there and disconnect the connector. The harness will come out enough above the frame so you can clean it. On the front end of the tank is a small vent line above the tank. Disconnect that after dropping the tank an inch, you'll break the fitting off the tank if you forget about that line.
