engine missfires at 1500 -> 2000 rpm
Hiya,
trying to solve my only small problem with my truck wich is a 97 blazer.
driving around 60-65mph and engine at 1500->2000rpms i have regular missfires.
engine still performs ok but is spluttering alot, you can feel it when you drive.
give it some gas and it goes away.
What is it that might need to be replaced? Going to do a big service of the engine after the snow is gone, replacing all these old parts

I had a similar problem which was particularly bad after a cold start. People kept telling me the EGR valve was bad but I wasn't convinced. Truck had reached 80,000 miles on original plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor so I figured they were due to be changed. I did this & the problem went away - in fact it felt more powerful & smoother than it had ever done, and my gas mileage was noticably better too.
Old distributor cap was badly worn & rotor had worn badly too. Plug wires were cracking up too.
I'm glad I didn't waste money on a new EGR valve.
