Default quick question on vortec valve adjustment

after reviewing this discussion, I just want to verify my procedure. I have a 1996 blazer 4WD with the 4.3 vortec and the no adjustment rocker arms. I know this because the rocker arm nuts are loose until the full extent of their run and then immediately tighten against the rocker bearing. I had thought I needed all new nuts until i read this and discovered a non-adjustable type exists. So all I am going to do is torque each nut according to specifications and then spin the push rod by hand.... it should feel just right. and I'm done. Or do I torque PLUS a half turn?
