2001 4 Dr 4wd blazer 4 button t case..

Been having trouble with 4wd.. finally got it to go into 4hi by unplugging and plugging in the 4 wire connector on the tccm..

So the dash switch said I was in 4hi and I heard the t case switch to 4hi.. so I took a ride around the block and when making turns it did not feel like it was in 4wd..

So I went home put it in neutral. Put it in 2 hi which I heard tcase switch out of 4hi then I pressed 4hi again and I heard the tccm click and the tcase switch to 4hi but then the dash switch went off and my service 4wd light came on..

Now I go to put it in drive to go park in the driveway and when I press the gas it just revs up like still in neutral .. same in reverse just revs like in nuetral.. and when I tried to put it in park I hear the trans grimding.. so I left it in neutral turned off the truck and put it in park after truck was off so I could get the key out and left it there..i then started the truck again and tried to put it in drive and it just revs and then grinds into park so again I left it in neutral and shut it off the put in park. .

Now since having problems with the 4wd I have a spare tccm in the truck.so I swapped tccm and now when I start the truck in park it starts grinding automatically. So I shut the truck off and swapped tccm back and I can at least start the truck with out it grinding...

Any idea wat my problem could be.. I've about had it with this truck.. kinda just want to set it on fire

 

The Auto 4WD, 4 button transfer case, (NV236) is capable of shifting into neutral, (red light in the switch). It sounds like the encoder motor shifted the transfer case into neutral and died. Could be a problem with the encoder, TCCM, dash switch or any of the associated wiring. If the "service 4WD" light is on, there is a DTC in memory that will help diagnose the problem.

 

I'm gunna have my mechanic scan it tomorrow hopefully. . If not then by tuesday

 

You can remove the encoder motor and shift the transfer case manually. At least you'd be able to drive it.
