$550 to replace fuel lines? Sound right?
I got an estimate today on replacing the fuel lines on my 1997 Bravada. I was a little shocked when I first saw the estimate; $555.37. Does this sound correct? I've developed a leak coming from below the driver side rear door and the shop confirmed it is a fuel line. Here is the breakdown on the estimate I received:
Labor 3 Hrs. @ $80 = $240
"Fuel line from filter" = $146.49
"From the pump" = $126.49
Fuel Filter = $16.99
I need to make a decision soon as the leak is progessively getting worse. Thoughts on the estimate?

Ask them if they need to drop the fuel tank. If they do then 3 hrs may be legite but the part prices seem ridiculous. Idk ask NAPA about fuel line prices. I have seen some posts about the fuel pump leaking but not the lines. This could be a bait and switch. Get a second opinion.
Holy CROW! I've had brake and gas lines replaced. Guess I know a few really NICE mechanics! Never paid more than $150. Of course the 2 mechanics I use have been friends of my boss for YEARS. He used to own a service station.
Fuel pump replacement was $550 though...and that's about what I figured before I even got the estimate.
