Hi i have a 2000 blazer just bought recently. im having problems with the door shutting. the little hook on the door keeps falling to far down after the door has been closed and after its closed the door wont shut until i hit that hook back up can anyone help me?

the latch on the door? the tooth that grasps the bar on the truck side of things?

 

yea the latch tooth thing keeps falling down after the doors been shut and i have to keep hitting it up before i shut the door now.

 

This is probably caused by bad hinge pin bushings. Try to lift up on your door. If you can lift up on your door without moving the whole side of the truck, the bushings are bad and need to be replaced. This is a common problem on these trucks and is discussed in a number of other threads.
