Ok - I have a 2001 LS 4.3 with 2W Dr. Today after a 150 mile run in 40 degree weather (with no problems) I stopped for $10 of gas at Shell. Keep in mind I was Damn near empty. Got back in and on the road and imediately, it was chugging like a misfire. I limped it 2 miles home with more success after breaking the 30 MPH zone and parked it. It idles fine, starts fine, and now after cooling off even had less hesitation until reved to 3000 RPM. Just replaced the intake manifold gasket, spark plugs, wires and such in October (4 months ago). I did notice a rubber smell under the car but nothing glowing!
First thought was bad gas but now I am lost!!!!
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.
Yes - while limping home the Service Engine Light was on solid and sometimes blinking.
Again, runs better now that it cooled down but has always idled fine and started fine.

It could be a lot of things, but it sure sounds like it is fuel related to one extent or another. Blinking SES light means misfire. The code or at least one code that is stored is P030x (0,1,2,3,4,5, or 6).
How often do you drain your tank to E? That isn't too good for the fuel pump.
Have you replaced your fuel filter recently? If not, that is a cheap and quick thing to try first.

All great advice - unfortunately we had to run out of state to a funeral so I ended up just having it towed to my mechanic. Sadly, I do run it down to empty often so I was leaning toward the pump myself.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
