Is the battery original? Is it an AC Delco? If it is either original or AC Delco, it is possible that the positive post inside the battery has corroded, giving you an intermittent connection. It is enough to power everything when the key is in the ON position, but when loaded by the starter, it will not work. I had this happen in my old '00 Bravada. Jump start it, then start it quite a few times after that. Thought, good to go right... No. Went to use it again and nothing, then just like that it started without issue.
The other possibility is the ignition switch. During all of this, did you notice if the 'security' light was illuminated on the dash?

RE: '01 Has power , But Won't Crank
I had this issue with my 99 Jimmy...Enough power for all the other stuff, but not enough left to crank the starter, and later on the fuel pumponce it didstart didn't work properly..(so they told me that at the garage) New battery settled it.
