Default I turn the key, but it won't crank?

Hi, new to the forum. I am a member of the Camaro5 forum and find the best info there. And am hoping to get some helpful info here. I have a 2000 blazer and when i turn the key everything seems normal but it will not crank. I checked for power @ the starter relay when you hit the key...no juice. Starter itself is fine and will start if you jump it at the starter...any ideas?

Have you had the battery tested and checked the terminals and wiring from the battery to the starter?

When the key is turned to the start position, I don't have any ignition power at the starter relay. All wires, terminals, connections seem to be fine.

Assuming you have gone through all the fuses the next thing I would look at is the park/neutral safety switch. It's at the base of the column and if the connections aren't made at the switch it will not let any power go to the ignition. I'm also assuming you have an automatic. Hope this helps.

if u jump the starter the vehicle will start are you saying putting a screwdriver across the terminals or jumping the relay.. if it starts by jumping the relay and it then dont with the relay in I would assume the relay was bad. but supermutt is right maybe a fuse also

ok thanks. I was thinking maybe park/neutral switch, so I tried starting it in neutral and ran the shift lever through the gears and back to park, thinking it might jar the switch....no go. Is there a way to bypass that switch to see if that's my problem?

I don't know of a way to bypass it but mine only cost around 17$ at the parts store so if that's not your problem then atleast your not out much. Your other option may be to just wiggle the wires going to it. Theres a chance the connections just loose.Good luck!
