Default 02 Blazer stalls at stoplight

Blazer was running a random misfire code, changed distributor cap, rotor, coil, plugs & wires.. and for an extra measure changed the fuel pump. SES went off so I thought I got it! Drove good- better than I can ever remember, yesterday it was raining; went to town and at my very first stop it stalled. Heartbreaking! Continued to die at every stop. Did good on the way home when rain had slowed down. Any any any suggestions??

Does your truck have an EGR valve?

Not sure what that even is, or if mine has it. It's an 02 ls 4x4.

Did you use A/C Delco cap and rotor? It makes a difference

The '02 does not have an EGR valve....at least mine does not anyways.

Did the distributor cap hold down screws strip-out?

Did you put dielectric grease on the distributor cap contacts?

This engine really only likes AC Delco ignition parts; probably going to have to change the cap and rotor.
Also check the distributor shaft for excess movement. Good news is that replacement aluminum distributors are available for only about $50 and seem to work just fine. They do not come with AC Delco cap and rotor though, so need to change them.

I noticed when I was putting the new wires on (time reasons had to put plugs & wires on a couple days after replacing cap & rotor) that the distributor cap was loose, I shook my head at myself for not doing my job right and tightened it down. Sure enough it's loose again. It has no wiggle once the cap is tight. My brother in law suggested cap problems because of acting up in rain but I knew I had changed it. I'll go for AC Delco and figure out a way to keep er on there. Should I or shouldn't I get the dielectric grease? I didn't but will if suggested. other suggestions before? I really appreciate your help.
