Hey guys me again, Found a nice Zr2 at a dealership in town here. Its an auto though, i have never owned an auto before and being a truck im a little worried about buying an auto. How are these trannys reliability? also from the pics the back end seems to be lower than the front. could this be anything major since the dealer did not fix this? Thanks guys im new to the truck/suv world

PS. my friend who has an 05 blazer LS with the non working ebrake says his mechanic told him you need to tear the rear diff apart to take the axels out just to get at the ebrake. This doesnt make any sense to me but is that really how these rigs work?

The back ends sag on all Blazers with a spare tire on the back. Chevy didn't do a good job of compensating for the 31" wheel when they were produced.

It can be pretty affordably fixed with a set of shackels or Add-a-leafs.

What kind of parking brake does it have? The foot operated one on the left side, or the pull-emergency brake?

His has the foot operated one. It springs back and feels like it should work but it doesnt stop the truck from moving at all

The 4L60E isn't a bad transmission at all. It has some issues, but overall, statistics do not lie. GM put this trans into just about every light to medium duty rear-drive truck/car from '94 up to current day.

As far as replacing the parking brake shoe, you do not have to remove the axles to replace the brake shoes. If you need to replace the backing plate, then the axle shafts will need to be removed, but that is true for just about any solid axle.
