what style distributor (Horizontal,Vertical) does a 95 blazer take I seen pics of the older vertical style distributor and the horizontal style that is on the 96 motors, mine has the older cpi aluminium plenum motor but it is using the 96 style distributor. I was wondering if someone had installed the wrong distributor for this motor.

 

From memory, my ole '95 had the distributor with the plug wires horizontal. Have never seen a '95-'04 S10 Blazer with anything other. I believe your engine has VORTEC on a plastic cover in the center right?

 

I got an aluminum plenum engine with a horizontal distributor (S10 '95). They are not the same horizontal ones as like into '00 (although I have no idea whether this one is a genuine distributor or not). It has a separate, "Y" shape metal clamp for tightening the distributor in place. Also, the '00 one may not be mounted, as the connector hits toward the firewall prior reaching an accurate angle position.
I know that as I've been trying to exchange it with my '00 distributor into, and I failed. I was supposed to post some pics, but... if You're asking You may be already aware of what I am writing about

 

Yeah mine has the vortec plastic cover on top of the aluminium plenum. I was just wondering because advance auto shows the old style and the new style distributors for a 95
