Default 1997 blazer

After about 20 minutes my headlights turn off and only my day light running lights are on. After afew seconds they comeback on. Any ideas on what is causing this?

I'd think that maybe you have a weak headlight relay.

Do you have Automatic Head Lights (AHL) as well? If so I would assume it is a bad AHL sensor. Does it do this with the headlight switch in the full on position?

Check your headlight switch, maybe it has a bad connection.

What is the outdoor lighting conditions when this happens? It is possible that you are right on the threshold of when the lights should be off/DRLs on and vise versa.

Sounds like a short is tripping the circuit breaker. Also, Check the headlamp switch.
