1997 blazer transmission is suealing and wont go in reverse what is wrong?and what c

1997 blazer the transmission is making a whining noise it goes into to drive but does not go into reverse what could be the problem?

I have all other gears except reverse

You have physically driven it and confirmed that all 4 forward gears engage? If so, then this pretty much sums it up :
