My tech at the shop I go to has a professional scanner that cost him a few thousand.

The driver side door jamb switch only has two wires (one black). I unplugged and removed it and no more light, so I will remove the other three. It seems to serve no purpose since opening the doors does not turn on any interior lights either, yet all interior lights work fine when manually turned on from the headlight switch.
Glad you found an easy way to disable the security light.

Regarding the code reader, I purchased an iLink model for about $120. It has the ability to probe all sorts of codes like the ones for the airbag collision sensors. Perhaps your Autel is limited in what codes it can read? Have you had an auto-parts store read the codes for you?

I see the iLink model on Ebay but not Amazon. Not sure they make it any more. No one else has tried to read the codes but my tech mechanic at the shop I go to has a real good - cost him a few thousand. I'll ask him to scan it next I go in. Thanks a lot!

I have an this ilink model that I bought new, downloaded the chevy profile and used once. I will let it go for 50% of new if anyone is looking for a good scanner deal. PM me if I can help anyone out.
