No more shackles, no lift arms. Going for an alignment in the morning. It's looking good. I left the front end a half inch lower than the back.

To close up the thread here, the torsion and shackle lift is relatively easy as long as all of your front end and shackle bushings and bolts are in good health. I took on the project by installing new leaf springs and shackles and differential seals. All of this was relatively easy. The next step was the front, my upper balljoints, pitman arm, and idler arm were in not so good health so I had to install all new everything and even after installing everything the shop couldn't get it aligned. So on my way back home I was feeling how rough the rode was and decided it would be easier in the long run to go back to my stock suspension. I took it all apart and put the stock suspension parts back in and took it in for an alignment. Even after returning the car to stock they charged me $400 bucks to get it aligned as they "had to remove the tie rods on both ends and it was every tedious to get it aligned." I believe that the torsion lift could've been aligned if I had paid them and they had done the same procedure but in the end I decided to enjoy the smooth stock suspension that my stock suspensions geometrics provided. The car has a 2Inch body lift and I can probably fit 31's so that's what I plan to do. Big thanks to everyone on the forum that followed along in the journey and although it didn't work out at least I learned more about my car! I may offer up the shackles for free and the lift arms for cheap as I have no need for them anymore..

Hey everyone!! Just an update. Like I said I had it stock and they aligned it. Months have passed since then but I couldn't help notice the front of my car was higher than the rear. Today I had the urge to throw the longer shackles on and give it another go. So I spent the two or three hours and finally got them on. Assuming that I didn't touch the torsion keys since it was a little taller in the front I assume its still in alignment. Here's a picture of it! What size tires do you guys recommend??? It's got a 2inch shackle and torsion lift and a 2inch PA body lift and no front lower valence.

In theory, lifting the back will affect the caster in front. But the difference in your case is so minimal that it won't make any difference. And caster doesn't affect tire wear, so it matters even less.

If you don't want the tires to rub on rough terrain, I would go with 30x9.50 but you might be able to get away with 31x10.50 if you do some minor trimming.

What kind of trimming would be needed for 31x10.50 and do you have any pictures of 30x9.50s!!? Thanks!!

You would have to put them on and see where they rub to know where exactly to trim. I believe Christine is running 30x9.50s. There should be plenty of pictures of her Blazer on here. Maybe somebody with similar lift and 10.50s could give you more specifics. My 37x14.50s took a lot of work to fit, lol.

WOW I bet it was hard!! I know that the blazinator had 31x10.50 with just a shackle and torsion lift.. don't know if they rubbed or not. My car won't be traveling through rough terrain really! You think 30x9.50 won't look too small? Remember ive got a tbar and body lift. I just don't want it to look silly hehe

I think the 30s look good on Christine's with a 2-1/2" lift.

Since you also have a body lift and you're not planning any serious off-roading, I'd go for the 31s. Worst case, you have to "touch up" the corners of your fenders. You'll probably be fine, though.

Here's my stock front space without the valence. Whats the size of the 31s you think I'd be looking for? The 31x10.50R15s?
