An idea I've used unless you have a big leak-flush it now, then swap out the radiator, and once its all back in place-flush it again! Then use a quality coolant to remedy future issues with Dexcool! Just a thought. But 2 gallons will be more than enough to fill your system.

like the other guy said bought to gallons but i wouldnt use dexcool its junk it can gum up and eventually become corrosive. i use prestone its better and had the best luck with it. and its quaified to be used with mix brands. i changed my rad in mine and used prestone

I put in a new radiator about a year ago. If my memory serves serves me correctly, I only
had to add about a half quart of transmission fluid to make up for what dripped out from
the cooler lines. Not much. I had a transmission fluid and filter change at 150,000 miles.
I added 4 quarts of Dexron 6 and 1 quart of Lucas. She has been doing fine with this mix.
I have never had a flush so I am thinking I have a mix of Dexron 3, 6 and Lucas in there.
