Well I just checked my GM SERVICE DVD and it gives two scenarios for this situation...

1. Crankshaft Position Sensor
DTC: P0335, P0336, P0335

2. VCM Repalcement due to failure...

The VCM gets a signal from the CKP (crankshaft postition sensor) at pins 28(CKP Sensor Ground)and 31(3x kp signal) if the VCM does not get the signal you need to check for a short in the wiring at the CKP connector or wiring...

But this indicates a path to look at...

Update, The P.O.S. is still Dead..

Simptoms
No start condition
Has spark
intermintant backfire (very weak) through the air intake

Here is what I have checked and done so far.

Scanned PCM, Code retrieved is P1351 "Ignition Voltage High", possable issues listed from scanner are
"Vapor tubes blocked" (this is a new one on me)
"Crank Position sensor circut"
"PCM"

Checked Plug wires resistance OK

Checked Resistance on Coil Primary and secondary. Correlated to book values.

Checked voltage at ignition control Module, 12.4V
Tested Module, seemed alittle Flakey, not giving consistant readings, Replaced

Fuel Pressure When pump is running 68PSI, when pump goes idle 59PSI

Checked Crank Posiotion sensor, Book clamed resistance reading of 600-1200 ohm's. Origional was an Open Circut. Replacement from Autoparts store was 5200 ohm's. Checked remainder of stor stock, and another store in town with the same results. Same resistance. Installed new sensor. Checked voltage at sensor, 12.4V

Checked timing chain alignment (I was reaching for anything I could think of at this point) it was right on the money.

The PCM acted fine when I was scanning the codes. every question that I gave it came back with the correct answer. Tried checking pinout on PCM from 20Blazer00's sujestion. There are 4 plugs on the PCM, 2 of which have pins 28 and 31. Both have the same wire colors as the Crank Position Sensor. So I was not able to come up with a check for a short.

Dose anyone have more information for me to ues????

Any help is greatly appericated.

Thank you

Here is the verdict,

After a dealer was working on the truck for 2 days, this is what they found

The coil had corosion on one of the contacts (I guess cleaning the contact was not enough). Some how this caused a back feed killing the new Ignition control module that I put in. The dealership was very good about it and cut me a nice break on the cost. I guess it is bad when you stump the service man.
