Default 2000 chevy blazer question

Hey guys, just joined this site... quick question, the other day I was driving my blazer and my turn signal ticker started acting up on me. It would tick and the noise won't go away now (even when my turn signal is not activated)! My question is if there's a quick fix to this, the ticker sounds like it's located on top of the glove box. Any ideas or tips would be appreciated. Thanks guys

It sounds to me like it might be the multi-funtion switch on the steering column acting up, not stopping sending the signal for the ticker.

I'd wait for one of the more expert folks to weigh in though.

Although if it happens again try moving the turn signal lever around some, see if the position of the arm makes it go away.

I've been doing a little reading on google and I believe you are correct. I think it;s the multi-purpose function and i Think the entire arm needs to be replaced and apparently it;s not a cheap fix. Can anyone else confirm this please.

Yup, i have the same problem with mine. You do have to replace the whole arm and they are a little pricey which is why i have yet to replace mine. For now i am just living with it until i have the money to spend on the part. One thing to watch for though is that if you do decide to leave it for a while. Make sure you brake lights and turn signals are still working. Ive heard some cases where they won work. Luckily mine still do, for now anyway.

there was a recall on the multi-function switch. took mine to the dealership and they replaced it for free on my 2000 blazer about 2 years ago.

yeah there is a piece that goes in behind the hazard switch. From what i have heard though is that its really only a temporary fix.
