New-to-me 2000 Chevy Blazer side view mirror question
#1
So, I traded my 1991 Jeep Yj

for a 2000 Chevy Blazer,

and really couldn't be happier. The only problem is it needs side view mirrors. I am new to Blazers, but I saw the passenger side, which is completely knocked off, and the wires (and connector) on it, and didn't get a good look. I was basically wondering if there were just one type of 2000 blazer mirrors with wires, because I found a nice pair on ebay for pretty cheap, and am hoping it is the right set so I can purchase. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

hanks. I saw that the wire conection looked different, but I was taking the mirror off part of it on the outside, instead of behind the door panel.

The mirrors on my 97 are off of a 2000 Blazer, and I know the pin connectors and wiring setup is a bit different from the four pin connectors which were on the mirrors originally with the vehicle. The ones from the 2000 have mirror heaters, so that accounts for some of the difference. I'm not sure if the pin connections match up for those with mirror heaters and for those without. Whatever you do, don't get OEM or OEM-style mirrors intended for the 95 - 97 model.. they're crap (which is why I ended up having to replace them). They'll line up to bolt in just fine, but you'll never want to go through an automated carwash or drive through severe winds.
You'll need a trim puller (I got mine for $10 from O'Reilly's... I only ever use it on my own vehicle, so it made no sense to buy a much more expensive one or a whole set of them from Snap-On or Mac), a Phillips head screwdriver (although you can use a slotted one, as well), and you'll want a ratchet (preferably 3/8" drive), a ratchet extension, and I believe you'll need a 10mm socket for the bolts.

Thanks. That was really in-depth. I am definitely looking forward to getting these in so I can start building her up. I noticed that mine had a 3-pin conector as well, but from what I am understanding, the 3-pin is inside the mirror, since 2 other wires attach directly to the back of the mirror, and the larger connector is behind the door panel?
I am unsure at this moment, but I guess will find out when I put these new ones in...

Inside the door, there'll be a quick disconnect. I had to use the quick disconnect casing from my old mirrors and rewire it with the wires from the new mirrors.

I just put two non power mirrors on mine. I find unless you spend good money on aftermarket mirrors the cheap ones tend to shake a lot while driving which I can't stand so I just snatched the mirrors off my spare doors which were factory GM and threw them on since I had non matching mirrors on the truck when I bought it.
