Default 2001 blazer 4.3 vortec sometimes stalls and/or dies when applying gas pedal

ive had this blazer for 3 years now, 90,000 miles on it. never stalled or died once. kept it very clean, and serviced. we recently had a 103 degree day here in idaho, and since then, the stalling happens. the engine does not over heat, it happens with ac on or off, i always run 92 octane gas. doesnt happen all the time, every other day or so, i would say. i may be at a red light , or going about 30 mph, and ill lose power. ill step on the gas a little more to keep it going, but that seems to kill the engine altogether. i then throw it into neutral, and i can turn the key and start it with no problem. like i said, this happens maybe once or twice a day now. i have ran a check on the computer, with no codes found. what could this be? electrical or not? please point me to my first step. thanks.

I would start by checking the fuel pressure. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter.

never checked fuel pressure or replaced fuel filter at least not in the last 3 years. ill definitely check. but this problem only happens once a day, or every other day . otherwise, i have full power and runs great. thanks for the reply.

Is it heat related? If your fuel pressure checks out ok then maybe have the ignition module checked at your local auto parts store. I would also see about any codes that may be stored in your computer even with no check engine light.

My 2000 Blazer did the same thing. My ignition module checked out good ( make sure you put dielectric grease on the back). I took my MAF sensor off and sprayed the crap out of it with some cleaner and it hasn't done it since. I don't know if it was a fluke, but it quit after I cleaned my MAF.
