Torque the retaining bolts to 22ftlbs. There is no adjustment.

Do you have that "lifter clatter" too? I've had that from day 1 & have heard the 4.3 vortecs are known for it.

Thanks for the info. going out to the garage to set them right now. Ya, I had noisy lifters the intake gasket was bad, I am replacing head gaskets, lifters and intake gaskets. Found anti-freeze in number 1 and 5 cylinder. I just replaced the intake gaskets and had the same lifter noise as before, thats why I am doing all the rest to eliminate the top end, the cam checked out ok. Also I plan on keeping the truck for awhile.

I use Sea Foam in my crank and made the lifters go quiet for awhile, now the nosie is back, I say, crap its been this way for 100K and nothing has blown. So I will leave it alone. Plus I all of a sudden develope leaks after putting the sea foam in. Its about time to change the oil. Hopefully some of leaks will stop.

I've never used seafoam in the crank. You probably develop leaks because it cleans the dirt and gunk keeping that leak filled in. I only use Lucas in the oil. Always have.
