Default 2001 Chevy Blazer P0300 help

I have a random misfire I've been firing the parts cannon at and wonder if you guys can help me understand somethings. My misfires go away when I disconnect the MAF sensor though I replaced the sensor and it still misfires when connected. The check engine light went from flashing to a solid light whith the new sensor. If the misfires on my scanner go away when it's disconnected does that mean it's the MAF? Does the speed density mode bypass vital components making this way of testing problematic or inaccurate?

Parts cannon - GOOD oNE!!!!

Its always the LAST part that we replace that fixes it.

My guess, air leak around manifold or throttle body, esp if disconnecting the MAF makes it run a bit richer. Smell whats coming out of the tailpipe, a LEAN mixture from an air leak can actually cause a RICH smelling exhaust because there isnt enougn fuel to light off the spark plugs and it loads up on that cylinder. Strange but true...
