Default 2001 xtreme blazer tranny problems

I have a 2001 xtreme blazer (2wd) when i put it into gear nothing happens so i hit the gas and the engine revs to about 3000rpms and then it starts to move slowly, but once i get going then its fine it just jumps rpms a little and kinda jumps foward when driving. The engine light came on first before all this happened then it went away and now i have this problem, there was no noise or anything it just started to do it one day and now its getting worst. I checked the tranny fluid and topped it off while working the gears and still nothing has changed. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? i know it the tranny but need to know exactly what.

We are not ignoring you it's just a difficult call from a keyboard. In all honesty unless you have some good working knowledge it might be best to get it to a mechanic you trust. At the very least to someone with a good capable scanner.
Please let us know how it works out, someone here might be able say if your getting bullsh*tted or not.

Do a search of this site, but it sounds like the typical solonoid/valve body issue. This does throw a GM specific code from my experience. Take it to a reputable shop (ATRA affiliated!) because you probably do NOT need a tranny rebuild, just a fix. These trans are very durable and generally reliable, although several TSB's have been issued on them dating back to 1999 I believe. Again,be very selective of the shop as most will automatically tell you the trans is in need of a re-build to the tune of $2500 +/-
