What do you mean no power to the engine?

If you started it with a jump then I presume that your battery was dead? What is the voltage at rest and when the truck is running?

What happens to the dash lights when you hit the brakes? Does the same thing happen when you turn on the headlights?

Have the battery or alternator been replaced?

George

Sounds like the alternator is not working; is the belt on the alternator? Do you have a voltmeter? Need to put voltmeter across battery terminals when engine is running to measure alternator output voltage; voltage should be 13.6 to 14.3 Vdc or so, if less, then engine is running off of battery, which drains the battery in a short time.
If it is the alternator, good news is that they are easy to change-out.

Please provide the voltages that I asked for.

Why did you need a new battery?

George
