2002 Factory Sunroof problem
I recently opened my sunroof, but then it would not fully return to the closed position. It would move forward approx 2 inches and stop, or I could open it back up those 2 inches, but it just wouldn't close fully. Dealer said it would be $2000 to fix it! That was broken down as $1150 for parts, and $850 for labor. I told them the motor seemed to be OK, so why so high? They told me it all came "as an assembly." I have never been much of a sunroof user; I do open the sun shade, but seldom actually open the roof up. For the time being, the dealer was able to fully close the sunroof for $69, which I thought was a BARGAIN! I did this, since I was unwilling to paythe high pricefor complete replacement. Anyone had this problem?
Yes i had the same problem, it did it for just a short time and hasnt done it anymore..Just make sure ya keep the tracks greased!!! not alot of grease but sparingly..my blazer is the same year and its an Xtreme..theres no way in all hell am i paying a dealer that much to do anything to my sunroof...I guess it helps to be able to work on cars yourself or know people.....
