come to find out that the vent valve is what seems to be a non serviceable part in the plastic tanks in the 2 doors. had to bust it up into pieces to get it out. IF IM WRONG PROVE IT... to many posts on this vent valve and no one seems to want to answer. even threads from over a year ago still no answers but over 1k views. so im going to try an idea... may not work. but if it dont.. trucks going up for sale.. it has a half tank and thats all its going to get. unless my idea works. sorry if anyone feels im being an ****. but the question on this vent valve for 2 doors has been asked so many times.

I'm not sure if they are the same or not. I doubt it.
but the wife has a 3 door sonoma, her tank was spitting back up everytime we went to fill. The vents are all heat sealed to the tank(molded and melted into place kinda thing).
the mechanic pulled the tank apart(took it to him with a splash of gas in it), and he found that there was a grey plastic piece with a spring at the inside end of the filler hose, I think it's to stop gas from coming back up the hose. He removed that piece, and the tank fills now.
