Default Vent Valve on Gas Tank

My '97 jimmy (4dr., 4wd) has a "fuel tank vent valve" on top at the front of the tank.
Has anyone ever had to replace this, and if so how ?

i think the vent vavle is off to the side somewhere, some gas tanks just have a little plastic vent on top of the tank that usually dont go bad unless you physically break it.

Now that I finally got her running, it's either a leaky tank, a line from above the tank, or I broke the vent off. I'm leaning heavily toward the vent tube.
I changed the pump yesterday (while the tank was out, I cut an access hole in the floorboard to make future maintenance easier. I did not nick a line. 5000% sure.) While the tank was out, I installed a new vent valve btw. It was super tight when last seen.
My question is:
Do I have to pull the (now full) tank out again in order to change the valve?
It's a 97 4 door 4 wheel drive Blazer.
Thanks in advance.

check feed and return lines for cracks and verify clips are fully secured, the return line is shorter that feed side and crack easily even when new. Did fuel pump on my blazer yesterday and broke the return line and the pressure sensor no joy to fix. I have accidentally cracked heat fitted fuel lines in the past on these.
