how exactly did your friend determine that the ABS code is result of the fluid? did he tell you what the code was?

i have just under 150K miles on my '98, and it's never had the brake fluid flushed, other than the bleeding i did when i replace the rear calipers.

and putting your phone # up for a reply? not really a good idea, IMO. any yahoo that is surfing the net can now have access to your name & #.

I think your friend is way off track. I had the same issue in a previous vehicle and it ended up to be a bad wire at the wheel sensor. It's also possible that it's the sensor itself.

while it is recommended to change the brake fluid in your vehicle (every couple of years i think) i can't see the actual fluid being the issue.

find out the codes & do a search (either here on the forum, or with your friend).

So wore out brake pads or could it be possibly super dirty sensor from brake pads causing ABS lights to come on ?
Thanx !
