Default 2005 Jimmy back glass will not latch shut.

I opened it yesterday and when I went to shut it, the thing will not latch closed. Both buttons, inside and out, seem to be working but the glass will not shut quite all the way and will not latch at all. Anyone know what I can do about this? Thank you.

Did the latch get flipped over to the closed position before you shut it? You can try lubricant on it, if there dirt and stuff in there it might be keeping it from latching properly. Maybe it needs adjusted. There's probably 2 bolts and you can move it up and down. If they loosened up at all the latch could have dropped down to the point it won't catch.

I have the same issue with mine, and mine ended up being corroded. Clean it, or replace it is the best option if you can do. Best way to clean it is to pull it from the back.

I ended up spraying a s^&#load of wd40 down in there and letting it set for awhile. It worked.
